Financial Reporting
Our financial status is a moving target. Some donations occur on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, and others occur when a specific need arises or when a financial partner has an opportunity to contribute a larger sum of money to our ministry. As a result, it is difficult to state exactly where our support level is currently at. When we report our current financial status, we look at the past 12 months and take an average of all monthly giving. This provides us with a reasonable estimate of our monthly income.
Current Financial Situation
We are averaging $413.00 short per month. This is a significant shortage that is a cause for concern for this ministry. If this shortage is not reversed, we will be required to leave Croatia and our ministry here and return to the United States. To prevent an early return to the United States, we need your help. Our finances are entirely provided through the generous gifts of churches and individuals who partner with us in this ministry. Would you consider supporting this ministry financially?
Complications Affecting Raising Support
Our financial status is further complicated by laws in Croatia that prevent us from leaving the country for more than 30 days at a time. A brief overview of these restrictions is that foreigners desiring to stay long-term in Croatia must live in Croatia for five years, not leaving the country for more than thirty days at a time. After those five years are over, the foreigner can apply for a residence visa. Once a residence visa is obtained, foreigners living in Croatia may leave for extended periods of time.
We will not be able to apply for our residence visa until July of 2012 and will not receive the residence visa for up to six months after that. This makes addressing our financial shortage a difficult task since we must seek out financial partners for our ministry while living in Croatia.
When Will We Visit the US Again?
Our current plan is to visit the US immediately after receiving our residence visa, which should be around January of 2013. We look forward to visiting with many of you at that time.
Giving Methods
We serve in Croatia through SEND International. All contributions to our ministry must go through SEND International and are tax deductible. The following information is extracted from SEND’s giving instructions page.
SEND has many missions giving options for your convenience. Our preferred method is SEND Direct, an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Credit card transactions incur a 4-5% fee which is deducted from the gift amount.
SEND DirectYour monthly contribution to missions through SEND International can be made easily and economically by using SEND Direct. This program automatically deducts a pre-authorized contribution amount from your account on the 12th of each month. Your benefits?
- Save money – postage, checks and envelop costs are eliminated because your contribution is transferred automatically.
- Save time – you won’t have to write a monthly check or look for a stamp. It helps SEND cut down on administrative costs, putting more of your contribution into missionary work. It also saves SEND record-keeping and check-processing costs.
- No worry – the plan is convenient when you’re on vacation or squeezed for time. It saves you the fear of delayed, lost or stolen checks. Your contributions are received safely and promptly.
A receipt will be issued annually reflecting your most recent contribution and a total of the contributions given in the current year.
You maintain the same control as with writing a check. At anytime by simply notifying us you may:
- change your donation amount
- cancel your donation
- change bank accounts
