Welcome
Our family is dedicated to serving Jesus Christ wherever He leads us. As a result, in 2007 we moved from Savage, Minnesota, to Zagreb, Croatia in order to serve the church through a camping ministry. We survived the first year of transition as we struggled to adapt and learn this hard language and have gradually come to love our new home, new culture and the Croatian people. Over the years, our ministry has expanded to include youth ministry.
Youth Ministry
Dan leads Struja, the youth group in our church in Zagreb. Struja exists to draw students from 11 to 17 years of age closer to Jesus, to help them understand what it means to be part of the church, and to encourage them to reach out to their friends and classmates in the name of Christ. This is the first youth group these students have had and they love it! Several teens from outside the church attend as well. It is an exciting time for us to see the students mature and to consider what God will do through their lives now and in the future.
Bonnie teaches Sunday school in a mix of English and Croatian to first through sixth graders. The aim of the class is to help the children see the greatness and worth of God through studying His character and His word, while instilling in them a basic knowledge of the Bible. In addition, Bonnie helps other missionary families with homeschooling, enabling them to better educate their children and freeing them up for additional ministry.
Camp Ministry
We are involved in a camping ministry in Severin na Kupi, a small village in Croatia. Scripture Union and SEND International, ministry partners in Croatia, host non-denominational summer camps for campers from ages 6 to 17. Campers come from throughout Croatia and are exposed to the Gospel, learn English, and have opportunities to participate in a variety of sports, such as rock climbing, canoeing, mountain biking, and archery. These camps are an amazing opportunity for campers to become acquainted with the truth about God and life as revealed in the Bible and to make a decision to commit their lives to Jesus Christ. Most of the camps are held during the summer with a few retreats during the school year.
